Recently neighboring Brookfield avoided a serious tragedy when a work truck did not slow down as it approached rescue crews working at an accident scene. At the last moment, the driver veered off and ran off the road, causing property damage to a nearby home but thankfully no injuries.
Our neighbors and friends, the local heroes who volunteer to run into our burning homes and who work at the side of the road to extract us from crashed vehicles ask that we slow down and make way when they are on the scene of a rescue. They ask this not just for their safety, but for yours, too.
The Connecticut Slow Down & Move Over law is intended to help protect everyone at these incidents.
